The Highway & Bridges business sits within the Transportation Business (People & Places) and is committed to delivering major highway and bridge schemes throughout the Middle East. We have an exciting opportunity to join a busy and expanding team of Digital Delivery Engineers working on a number of high-profile projects, including highways and urban roads, long-span crossings, international bridges, architecturally led bridge designs, design and build schemes, and local authority commissions.
Due to an increased workload, we are seeking high-caliber professionals to contribute to delivering these innovative and exciting projects. We have a vacancy for a BIM Coordinator / Manager Highway & Bridges, who is keen to gain exposure to large-scale design projects as well as work with some of the largest Clients in the Middle East.
The Highway & Bridges team provides technical support for all major projects in the Middle East. The team closely connects with the global delivery center and has a good track record of delivering projects through work sharing. You will provide technical design inputs and manage elements of the delivery.
Working as a BIM Coordinator / Manager Highway & Bridges, you will be monitoring and governing BIM across the programme, ensuring data and information developed by consultants and contractors are compliant with client requirements. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of BIM technology and processes in the design, construction, and maintenance of highways and bridges. In addition, your duties will be to
- Ensure that the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and the deliverables meet relevant industry standards, such as ISO 19650 and NBIMS_US, and comply with client-specific requirements, such as Asghal, Neom, Qiddiya, etc.
- Knowledge of AASHTO, BS EN, ACI, AISC, and detailing standards and able to implement them in the steel and concrete structure modeling for highway and bridge projects.
- Develop a project-specific BIM Execution Plan (BEP) that complies with industry standards and client requirements. Make sure the BEP is a right-first-time working philosophy, then implement and maintain this Protocol throughout the project delivery stages
- Manage a team of BIM professionals, including BIM coordinators and technicians in local and remote offices, and provide training and guidance to ensure the team's effectiveness.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are on board with the project goals and understand the BIM process and their role within it.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to integrate BIM into the project workflow and ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Oversee the selection, configuration, and maintenance of BIM software and tools, ensuring that they meet project needs and industry standards.
- Establish and enforce quality control measures/tools and procedures to maintain the accuracy and consistency of BIM models and that the level of information is fit for purpose throughout the project lifecycle at all levels.
- Facilitate the sharing of BIM data and models among project stakeholders, both internally and externally, to improve collaboration and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain data management protocols for BIM projects, including file organization, naming conventions, and version control.
- Implement the data and quality management process in the Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Stay up to date with emerging BIM technologies and best practices and recommend their adoption to improve project efficiency and quality.
- Monitor and manage the budget for BIM-related activities, including BIM Management and implementation manhours, software licenses, and training expenses.
Here's What You'll Need
As a successful candidate you will have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, or a related field is often required. A master's degree in BIM or related field may be preferred. You will have experience working with BIM in the infrastructure design or construction industry in a consultant role, with a focus on highway and bridge projects. Previous experience working in the Middle East is desirable. You will have proficiency in BIM software platforms such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, Infraworks, Navisworks, and CDE (such as ProjectWise, and BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), 4D, 5D and asset information management BIM tools. Knowledge of Revizto, Bentley MicroStation OpenRoad, Rhino, Grasshopper & Dynamo, and visualization is a plus. It is an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of project management principles and experience in coordinating BIM processes within project workflows with a commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with the latest BIM trends and technologies. You will have strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a BIM team. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various project stakeholders.
